I’m really not the first one to get on the “ALL HAIL AUDI AND SUBARU RALLY GODS 4 EVER!!!! BEST CAR IN RALLY EVER IN WORLD!!!!! McRAE/ROHRL RAAWWWWRRRR!!!!!” bandwagon (cause they’re not... Lancia, Peugeot, Citroen, Ford, Mitsubishi, Toyota ) but this caught my eye last night and thought I’d share cause it’s pretty sweet.
It’s got some sweet tunes and some pretty good, very German philosophizing, as well as Michelle Mouton who is a total babe.
Oh, and an hour of awesome Group B footage.

You have to drive an old one to know what the rave is about. For instance, mine is the classic 2.2 turbo, mated to a 5mt, with no TC. Its also drive by wire, with a locking rear dif.

I’ve gotten the chance to drive a couple older Audis and they are pretty awesome. One was a 400hp coupe, the other an old track prepped V8 and they’re both fantastic cars... and those examples were, lets just say, a little rough around the edges.
I just don’t like it when people go on and on and on about Audi and Subaru without acknowledging or even being aware of the fact that there were way more successful teams out there. Audi did not dominate ALL of Group B as some would make it sound. The Audi Quattro dominated when it came out but the Lancia, Peugeot, MG, Ford, etc... were equally if not more bat shit crazy.
Subaru I threw in there because (again i like, have driven, and own one of their cars) they get a similar crowd of fanboys with no interest in the history behind those 3 championships.

It was the whole new kid on the block fucking shit up vibe they gave, plus, state side (IIRC), we didnt really get any of the technology that the other rally gods used in mass quantities(homologation and shit). Where as we got most of the basic goodies of the audi and subaru legend/legacy for a long time. Just consider how long the 2.2t was in service and across how many models. We’re dumb humans, and we love what we can actually afford to touch.

haha, but I am in agreement with you still, they arent the be-all/end-all when you look at the big picture.
